Great gift! – The best part of this kit is that it comes in a case that holds everything. Easy to play with and doesn’t need an adult to explain. Gave this to my 5 year old and she is having so much fun with it.

So much to build! – This is a pretty elaborate garden building toy set. There’s so many different pieces both small and large. This is probably best for toddlers around the age two and up. Most pieces are large enough that they won’t be a choking hazard but because of their size, it will take some fine motor skills to be play with. I like how many pieces there are where my toddler can just sit down and attempt to put different combinations together. It does take a bit of patience because the slots are so much smaller than large blocks so younger kids may not enjoy it as much. That being said, with all the different bugs and flower combinations, you can really create a small plastic garden of your own.

Excellent toy for both imagination and motor skills! – My 3yro daughter loves this stacking garden! There are a TON of pieces of many shapes, sizes, and colors to ‘plant’ a new garden every time! The packaging initially comes in bags by color and the flowers all need to be assembled with stems. They slip together smooth and snug. I don’t think I could take the flower heads back apart without significant effort. Most pieces fit together snug enough to hold in the garden but easy to disassemble and put away in the carrying case. Not all the flower pistils fit snugly, some just sit loosely on top, but that’s by design for the flat ones. Any that stand up tall will fit snugly enough that you could turn the flower upside-down and it will not fall out. My daughter also LOVES the butterflies and dragonflies! Very pretty but I do feel the need to protect them since the wings are a flexible plastic about the weight of cardstock and easy to bend or get crushed in the bottom of the box. It took me a minute to realize the butterflies could attach to the flowers. Most of the tall pistils have a tiny bead on the end the same size as the little hole on the underside of the butterflies and dragonflies so they can lightly click on to the flower pistils. Such a cool effect! It doesn’t work with every flower pistil though so I kind of wish there were small magnets or something in the flat pistils and butterflies. This garden play set would be a perfect gift for any kid old enough not to put any of the small pieces in their mouth and there are enough pieces to make it a sharable toy for two or three kids since there are enough green base pieces to make three separate circles or one big garden bed. My daughter loves this toy and I actually enjoy playing with it/her too!
