Terra-Gup 1 and Dashi – This is a cute toy for Octonauts fans. The Terra-Gup and the kangaroo are pretty well constructed, but Dashi could be a little more durable. She isn’t too bad, but she has a very hollow head that feels like cheap plastic. You can move her arms and legs and head though, so that is fun. She does sit in the Terra-Gup nicely, though it can be a little tricky to get her hands into place to hold on. The Terra-Gup rolls really nicely and you can manually flip up the claw in front. Unfortunately, the claw does not actually pinch open and closed. The hatch opens and closes easily, but I recommend being gentle with it because the piece that holds them on doesn’t feel that strong. Also, you will have to carefully get them to snap shut so they don’t break. The kangaroo is a little thing that is pretty stiff plastic, except its ears, which flex a little if you touch them. It has a hole on the bottom of its foot so you can secure it in place in the Terra-Gup. There is a notch for it on the floor in the back, under the hatch. I like the mission card too, but I wish it had some information about the kangaroo on there. Overall, this is a great addition to the playroom.

The Octonauts Toys are back! – I purchased this toy for my granddaughter, who loved the Octonaut series before I learned what it is. I have purchased toys from collectors NOS and it has been expensive, but as I mentioned it’s my granddaughter, so I will do what is necessary, but I digress. I had contacted Hasbro and offered to buy the rights if they had no plans to reproduce the toys. They had no plans, and would not tell me anymore. I signed up at the Octonauts website to get any info, as to new episodes, and any toys being produced. I just by chance went to Meomi’s website, and they boasted new toys, so I immediately went to Target, and Walmart, which were sold out already, and went to eBay to find the toys there for twice the price. So then to Amazon and it turns out Meomi has a store, they have a limited amount of toys which is where I purchased the Terra Gup 1 and the Octoray. I am not sure who likes them more, me or my granddaughter. I hope they keep the series going, and the toys. On a critical note, the Terra Gup is decent quality for the price, and the Octoray could be better, but good enough. QC could be better, and it seems the toys they used to make were better quality. Not sure why they compromised, cause money ain’t everything. I would still buy them based on the enjoyment factor though. I hope you can get yours.

The wings are CHEAP PLASTIC – I think they could have done more with the gup. And the wings are too flexible.

Great Show With Great Toys – My kids (4 and 6) love the Octonauts, and I’m so glad! It’s a great program that’s educational and benign. My daughter loves Dashi, and she’s loved playing with her and the Terra Gup along with our other Octonauts toys. If I had a quibble, it’s that the card and instructions are really…boring. I think they missed an opportunity to include some educational facts about the creatures that come with the sets. Overall, it’s a cute toy that’s been much enjoyed.

Cute, but maybe defective – The toy is great and my child loves it, but Dashi rattles like a baby toy. I don’t think this is supposed to be like that, so it’s possible that we got a defective toy.
